It is with a heavy heart that I inform the Retrieving world that sadly Dom passed away last night .
He was diagnosed with cancer late last year and unfortunately lost the battle too quickly.

Always the quiet achiever in all aspects of his life, Dom was a much loved man by both family & friends.

Dom loved fishing and hunting over his dogs with his brothers Elio & Gino. Upon his diagnosis his one desire was to have one last hunt with the guys and myself. He was annoyed that he had, in his opinion, the best dog he had ever trained and would not be able to take "Vyper" to the top in both the field & retrieving. Dom's understanding of dogs, his training prowess and his innate ability to correct problems will forever be remembered in the fraternity.

He was always looking to improve gear and his legacy to Wide Bay Club is that we have some of the best equipment to be found.

RIP my friend. You will be so missed.

A sincere 'thank you' to everyone for your heartfelt condolences.

We received them via may methods, phone, letters, txt, facebook etc.
They will be passed on to the rest of the family, especially Dom's children and grandchildren.

To me he was a loving brother, but especially the warmest and most considerate of friends. We grew up together, played all sorts of sports together and had hundreds of memorable fishing and hunting trips together.
On top of that we trialled all over Australia.

As a skilful GSP handler he had few peers. It is seriously difficult to have one GSP that is both a Field Trial Champion. and a Retrieving Trial Champion.
He managed it with 3 different dogs, plus taking others to their Retrieving Trial Championship titles..

He will be sorely and sadly missed.
Thanks again to all,for your kind thoughts.

Regards,,, Elio

Thank you every one for your condolences & kind words ,like Elio I have passed onto his children your respects .

My journey with Dom has been too short, just 17 years, we had many more trials & things we planned to do together.

Continuing to do the things we loved, trial & hunt with our dogs, the endless hours we spent out training all seem very hard to imagine without Dom by my side ,as hard as it may be with the help of our friends ,family & of course our dogs I will endeavour to continue .

Dom was so much more than a friend & training partner ,we were soul mates & I have been so fortunate to have had him in my life .
RIP my friend always in my thoughts & forever in my heart.
