It is with tremendous sadness that announce the passing of my friend john
he was rushed to hospital yesterday and pronounced clinically dead
at about 4 this morning he was pronounced official as deceased
john was one of the great givers to this sport when i started in 1990 he took me out and got me started I remember his great dogs Ash and Gus and he inspired me to wont to develop a dog just like them, Training would always finish with a thermos of coffee and biscuits
john campaigned many great dogs over the years beginning with Macca then on to Gus and then Ash Kia Ben and Luke followed and eventually Sam
Ash was johns best performed dog with whom he won 2 nationals I remember his great rivalry with Barry Baker and his wonderful bitch Sonny
John ranks perhaps second in terms of number of all age stakes won behind possibly Bob Tawton but i could be wrongJ
John has been inducted into the hall of fame as has NRTCH Bambillay White Ash
on johns kitchen wall hangs a large framed photo of john and Ash with the national trophy
our thoughts are with johns wife Emma a big thankyou must also go out to Joe Vella who has supported John and Emma over the last 10 years as johns health declined
i know first hand how much John and Emma appreciated it

Sad news. John was a Life Member of the Labrador Retriever Club of NSW and was retrieving trial manager for decades. He always ran wonderful trials.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Emma and family.

Over many years it was an honour and a privilege to know John through our wonderful sport.
John was a shinning light and a mentor to many right throughout Australia.
May you Rest In Peace.

Such sad news, I first met John on one of his many visits to WA at the 1989 National. He always had time to talk to and help even the most novice of trainers. His big Falcon ute with the CAT number plate was almost an iconic symbol at Nationals !
One of natures gentlemen, condolences to his family...Rest in peace John..the big judge has finally called you in
