The Flash Memorial was held on Sunday September 9th on the Avon River. The traditional glass of port to toast "the Flash" was the first task of the morning before the draw was undertaken. Photos coming soon.

Judge for this prestigeous trial was Ms. Lynne Strang.

Dogs Entered: 15
Started: 12
Finished: 6

Run 1: A triple mark. All marks were on land, with two short retrieves and one long. The long mark was the most difficult to sight and so caused the most grief.
Topscoring dog was Altiquin Glory (LRB) with 54 pnts.

Run 2: Mark and blind plus nono bird. The blind was angled upstream and across the river, with the nono bird placed at the edge of the riverbank a good distance downstream. The mark was thrown from the same side as the f.p. to land on a sand bank upstream and a bit longer than the distance to the blind. Pickup order, blind then mark.
Topscoring dog was RT ch Featherhunt Joshua with 50 points.

Run 3: Mark, blind and walkup mark (wounded game). With dog at heel fire at blind placed on river sandbank. A mark was then thrown directly ahead landing in long cover. Turning left the handler & dog walked towards another set of flags during which a mark was thrown R to L to land on a densely grassed island. This was removed whilst the dog completed the other retrieves and a track to a waiting bird had been laid. Pickup order, blind, first mark, then the wounded game.
Topscoring dog was Truclass The Swagman RRD with 51 pnts.

Run 4: Double blind and two bird. Two blinds were fired at whilst dog was in the hide. One at about 80 m and the other across the river at approx 140 m. The angle between the two was close so any pickup order was instructed. After the first blind pickup, a two bird was thrown from the dogs left to land in very high grass on the opposite side of the river.
Pickup order was both blinds (in any order), then the two bird.
Topscoring dog was RT Ch Featherhunt Joshua with 50 pnts.

1st Place: Altiquin Glory (Imp Ire) RRD CDX (LRB) Maggie Hankinson 185 points

2nd Place: Truclass The Swagman RRD (LRD) Kerry Webster 181 pnts

3rd Place: RT Ch Featherhunt Joshua (LRD) Judy Pannett 179 pnts

4th Place: RT Ch Blackboy Gunshot (LRD) Manfred Meerkotter 155 pnts
