Thanks Wayne. Jess is going well. Fortunately she and Kate stayed home out of the antarctic winds of Tarana on Saturday!

See you at Marulan.

Cheers, Jason.

Thanks Jason for posting the Gundog Society trial results and congratulations on your novice win.
Congratulations to all the winners, placegetters and finishers over the weekend. It is lovely to see some other breeds and the lady handlers doing so well.
I believe there is a 3 way tie for the Gundog Society's Jack Halford Trophy this year. I will confirm the details with Flo and get back to the Bulletin Board.
Thank you to everyone who entered the Society's last trial for 2006.
And best wishes to our VP Maureen Cooper for a speedy recovery from her surgery.

It's the PETER HALFORD MEMORIAL TROPHY which is awarded to the highest scoring dog or dogs accumulated over the 6 trials run by the Gundog Society in the year.
Subject to confirmation from Flo, I believe the tied winners in 2006 are Joe Vella and Blackie, Jack Lynch and Fern and Wayne Outtrim and Charlie. Congratulations to you all.
The BEALE STITT MEMORIAL TROPHY was not awarded this year as there were no finishers in Novice in Sunday.

Shouldn't it go to the Saturday novice winner by default then?

Cheers, Jason.

As I understand it, Jason, the trophy was donated for the Novice winner on Sunday, not the highest Novice dog in trial over the weekend.
And I was wrong in saying there were no finishers in Novice on Sunday.
No places were awarded even though some dogs did finish so perhaps the trophy should go to the highest scoring dog on Sunday. It will depend on the trophy rules.
I will raise this at the Society's next meeting and see what can be done, if anything.

I was just being cheeky Christine - I know that trophy is for Sunday.

Personally, I would think that the donor of the trophy would like to see Beale Stitt's memory honoured by a dog and handler team that was considered by the judge on the day to be worthy of first place.

Cheers, Jason.
