Hi Jason,
Over the years we have often talked about the novice and restricted dogs and not recognising them. How hard would it be to list the top couple of dogs that have only achieved points in Novice and Restricted? Maybe this is an easy way of seeing who the younger dogs around the country are.

Good idea Gareth. It doesn't get around the problem of comparing a dog which has had three wins on its way out of Novice or Restricted verses one that had multiple seconds and thirds in addition to its three wins, but it is interesting anyway.

Taking only dogs which have not scored any points in All Age, the top Novice and Restricted point scorers are listed below. The numbers in front of each dog is it's overall ranking in the Dog of the Year.

Cheers, Jason.

13. G Playdon's TORLUM HIGHLAND FLYER (FCR D) with 38 points - Restricted: 1st x 2, 2nd x 2, 3rd x 4.
14. W Outtrim's WARWIBA BRAVE HEART (GSP D) with 35 points - Novice: 1st x 3, 2nd x 3, 3rd x 2. Restricted: 1st x 3.
15. J&V Lawton's KADNOOK SPORTING CHANCE NRD (Lab D) with 31 points - Restricted: 1st x 3, 2nd x 1, 3rd x 2.
17. L Draper's LYDSTEP TANNER CDX (Lab) with 30 points - Novice: 1st x 1. Restricted: 1st x 3, 2nd x 1, 3rd x 1.
22. LM Price's AVOKAH JOLLY ROGER CD NRD (Lab D) with 24 points - Restricted: 1st x 1, 2nd x 2, 3rd x 2.
25. J Law's KADNOOK REMEMBER JAZZ (Lab B) with 22 points - Restricted: 1st x 2, 2nd x 2.

Jason - that is really interesting and great to recognise novice and restricted dogs as a lot of them may never win AA. It would be interesting to see where the top novice and restricted dogs are in 12 and 24 months - ie how many do go on and get their titles, how many are still being trialled and what level. That is probably too much to ask though!

Well done Jason, you've done a great job. It's very interesting to see the Restricted results.

Thanks for taking the time to put it all together.
