Just to qualify the status of the Beginners Stake, it is confined to dogs who have never been placed in or completed any Stake including Novice as it is designed to encourage newcomers into the sport. The runs will be shorter than those at a trial and with a maximum of 80 metres and only dogs over 6 months of age are eligible.

However, the Gundog Working Tests are open to all at the level they may be competing at or if they have never competed.

Cheers

We are getting good entries for the training session both in the trial section and the GWT's but there is still space for a few more.

Sherry Burnley will also be present with dummies(plastic, puppy and GWT) whistles and other doggy training items for sale.

I must stress that this training day and comp. is for beginners though, of course, all comers even advanced ones can do the two GWT's. As far as the Beginners Stake is concerned, though the heel work must be off lead you will be allowed to restrain your dog by the collar for minor penalty for the marks only but as there may be people who do not need to restrain their dog, then they must be allowed to score the 'brownie points'. We have found in the past that the majority of handlers choose to hold their dog. We want to encourage new handlers so please feel welcome.
