Hi all

News via the grapevine from the national. Four dogs finished...

Malcolm Tyrie won (not sure which dog - he had RT Ch Haigenhauf Golden One 'Nick' and Kadnook Colour Me Blonde 'Tess' entered)

Jim Hargreaves' RT Ch Winterset Moon Shadow 'Kato' was second

Jack Lynch's RT Ch Coalsgarth Nina 'Jill' was third

Brian Pritchard's dog was fourth - sorry I don't have its details.

Apparently there were 3 points seperating 1st and 4th!

Cheers, Jason.

I used some slightly older technology and did a ring around! As you can tell from the gaps in my post, the information was third hand, so it will be great to see the official results from the trial committee.

Can I assume from Alan's Qld results that Bryan Pritchard's dog which ran fourth at the national was RT CH Wraxhall Ragamuffin?

Thankyou to whoever posted the more detailed results for setting me straight on the points.

Cheers, Jason.

Yes, you are correct Jason. Bryan and Raggie came fourth. We all had our hearts in our mouths watching though, as on the last pickup of the eighth run, Raggie was returning with the rabbit when she suddenly stopped and dropped it about 4 foot outside the control flags. Bryan later said that Raggie was not accustomed to retrieving rabbits, as they don't have them in trials in Queensland.

Anyway, Bryan tried everything in the book to coax Raggie to pick up the rabbit and step the final few feet towards him. Raggie remained adamant that she had gone far enough. Poor Bryan was down on his knees at one stage, almost begging to the dog. After what seemed like an eternity, Raggie picked up the rabbit and took the few steps needed to get within the control area so Bryan could take the game from her, and then dropped it ! Oh dear...... But, Bryan, had finished the trial, and there was a great cheer from the gallery. It was exhausting just watching.
