GUNDOG CLUB W.A. 65TH ANNIVERSARY TRIALS

Postby Kerry Webster » Mon 28 Jun 2010 11:24 am

The Gundog Club are celebrating 65th years of existence in W.A. This year, for their first retrieving trials, the club asked NSW judge Jack Lynch to adjudicate at all three stakes, which was accepted. Jack flew over to W.A. on Wednesday and stayed with Allan Bartram and Catherine Thorburn for two days, before travelling to the country town of Toodyay to stay, during the weekend of trials. Some very cold mornings had ice on the stock troughs, and frost covering the ground, and Jack commented that he didn't know that W.A. got so cold. Oh yes it does ! Minus 4 was the morning temperature each day. The days turned out to be lovely, with clear blue sky and barely a breath of wind, and despite the frozen feet and hands everyone had an enjoyable time.

What a lovely venue and a great judge. The runs were challenging but by no means "mission impossible". Pity my girl was off colour and forgot what she was there for though!!

Glad to report she was back on form today.
