One of the features of this trial where we endeavour to concentrate on and feature Novice and beginners to our sport, we have a Novice Aggregate Score for the highest scoring Novice dog over the 3 Novice trials. Our winner was:

Rob Freebairn and Gillie who scored a total of 399 points. Well done!

Another feature of this trial was the brilliant catering of breakfasts, morning teas, lunches and the evening barbecue by Team Rowland/Sargison which was appreciated and enjoyed by all.

Congatulations to all the winners

I think the concept of running a gundog working test as a part of the weekends proceeding was a
great success. It was also great to see so many new faces at the trial, with some good performances
from dogs that competed in beginners last year.

The future is a bit brighter with people that have been coming along to our braxton trials over the past
couple of years now looking at breaking out to trial out side of the hunter valley.
It is good to see that the work of steve grainger and his club( maitland ob club) and a few others going out of their
way to promote trialing is bluiding momentum in the hunter valley.

With the coming of the new national rules for gundog working tests, it might even come to the day we can run a gundog working test at our
national, to promote our sport to people from the Obedience backgrounds and help increase the cross over of competitors.  :P

Thanks to all concerned for the fabulous weekend and congrats to the title getters.
Ditto to the comments about the catering. It was great.

I learned such a lot over the weekend - competed in the 3 Novices Stakes and the Open GWT.
I found that my girl became so focused on the retrieving that her obedience work in the GWT went backwards.
Once she saw the bird thrower out in the field, she didn't want to do a 1 minute stay!
We have lots to work on.
