Unless we get adverse weather, the trial site will be at Maffra (the same as last year). Camping will be available on the site. Caravan parks that take dogs are available at Sale and Stratford which are both about 10 minutes from the trial site. Motels, B&B etc are also available at Sale, Stratford as well as close to the site at Maffra and Tinamba. These is also a hotel at Tinamba with a high ranking in the Age Good Food Guide for those who want a special meal in a great atmosphere. A grand piano is part of the deal here. Tinamba is only a few minutes from the trial site.

We have inspected the site following the recent rain and it is in good order. The camping area is firm and the road in is in good condition. There is however some surface water in the odd spot and it would be a good idea to briing a pair of rubber boots.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Take Princes Hwy to Traralgon
2. Continue on Princes Hwy towards Sale
3. Turn left at Maffra-Rosedale Rd (C487) which is 8kms east of Rosedale
4. Turn right at Boggy Creek Rd
5. Turn left at Riverdale Rd
6. When you reach Vardy's Lane, turn right and travel about 1km to the culvert where you will find our camping area and trial site.
This is a good condition gravel road.

The roads from the Princes Hwy to Vardy's Lane are all good quality sealed roads. The property is owned by Gary Greene and his family.

The trip from Melbourne to Maffra is a very comfortable 2.5 hrs at the legal speed limit. It is freeway from Melbourne until you reach Traralgon.

The camping area is next to Vardy's Lane and within walking distance to the runs. It is a flat grassy area that will be mown before our arrival.

It is 5kms to Maffra which is a town of about 5000 people and has most services available. Tinamba is situated 8kms away and is a tiny town that boasts a fantastic hotel meal. The hotel is run by 2 boys that have a reputation for fine food. It has been highly rated in the Age Good Food Guide.

Just to let competitors know, Novice and Restricted Stakes will be combined at the weekend. This is due to the low number of dogs entered in Restricted. Bob Tawton will be judging both events on Sunday.
