The Retrieving club held their first Novice and Restricted stakes for the season on the river at Upper Swan. Dogs have to contend with very heavy cover, submerged logs and some steep edges in this area, and, on this occasion a local dog that rushed at one of the competing dogs quite aggressively. All in all a great day and despite thrower rubbers breaking, the two events ran very smoothly. Once again thanks to Ray Penman, Martyn Dickson and Allan Bartram for their work, and to the competitors who helped in the field or on the gun.
