One of the features of this trial where we endeavour to concentrate on and feature Novice and beginners to our sport, is that we have a Novice Aggregate Score for the highest scoring Novice dog over the 2 Novice trials. Our winner was:

Peter Butterfield and his Lab B Shelly on a total of 346 points. Well done!

As mentioned, we encourage as many new people to our sport as we can and to this end, a Beginners’ class was conducted by Joe Law and Mark Sargison with all of the participants being very enthused and ready to go away and practise. Thank you, Mark and Joe.

As well, we conduct Novice and Open RATG at this trial with both stakes being well patronised. The feedback from there was also very positive with most saying they are hooked on doing it, picked up many valuable hints and were so appreciative of competing on “real” trialling grounds that included the use of water and where the tests were run on game.

Thank you to all the judges who do such a grand job AND FOR FREE!! It is greatly appreciated.

On a personal note, we’d all like to thank Sharyn Sargison for making all the purchases for the breakfasts and the Saturday evening barbecue. No mean task! Thanks also to our 3-hat chef, Mark Sargison, for cooking up a storm. And thank you all for contributing so generously to our “pooled” table with luscious salads and desserts. The convivial atmosphere was enjoyed by all in spite of the appallingly hot weather all day Saturday and the threat of the bushfire just over the first hill.

Thank you to Jeff and Carol Griffiths who travelled up on the Saturday from fire-threatened Winmalee in the Blue Mountains to judge and/or compete only to find they had to return home on Saturday evening on the advice of the RFS. We send our good wishes to them and to all others under threat especially, apparently, on this forthcoming Wednesday when all the nasty forces are predicted to come together.

Thanks to all for a great weekend!

Thanks, Mark and Sharyn, for sharing your wonderful property.

Mary.
