The SA Canine Association Inc (SACA), Trading as Dogs SA presents the State Championship Retrieving Trial for Gundogs Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd August, 2015

Venue - Waikerie area in the Riverland

Please include your e-mail address on the front of the entry form, or enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Evidence of eligibility to compete in a Championship must be supplied for all non titled entries.

Vet Inspection - 7.30 am. Starting Time 8.00 am. All competing dogs will be required to be presented at time of vetting.

Draw - A public draw to determine the running order will be conducted at SAODC club grounds (Beaumont Rd enter off South Tce, Adelaide) at 12 noon on Tuesday 21st July 2015.

Trophies - Trophies and Sashes will be presented for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th places. Specialist trophies will also be presented where donated. A full trophy list will be printed in the catalogue.

Championship Stake is a Stake confined to Gundogs that have been placed first in a Restricted Stake or first, second or third in an All Age Stake or have the title All Age Retrieving Dog (AARD). A Championship Stake shall consist of not less than five (5) Runs, with at least thirteen (13) items of game to be retrieved. At least two (2) Blind Find Retrieves are to be included. A dog must be tested for steadiness from behind a Hide at least twice. A minimum of eight (8) bona fide exhibits and at least six (6) different owners to compete before the event can be recognised as a Championship.
Rules. This trial will be conducted under the Rules for the Conduct of Retrieving Trials for Gundogs as approved by the Australian National Kennel Council and effective from 1 January 2015.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Entries must include the Shooters Licence number of each competitor. If interstate competitors are covered by a Corporate Licence, then a copy of the licence must be attached to the entry form, and a copy carried at the trial. Your licence will need to be presented at the time of vetting, and, under South Australian State Law, must be carried at all times whilst handling a gun.

Trial venues are private property and must not be revisited at any time after the Trial.

Bitches in Oestrum will not be permitted to compete. They may be on the property but not in the vicinity of the Trial Site or area of the runs.

ALL DOGS on the trial site must be on a lead at all times (except when competing or being exercised), the lead must be held in the hand or the dog tethered.

All non-competing dogs must be vetted and left in the designated area; they CANNOT be in the gallery.

Evidence of eligibility to compete in a Championship Stake must be supplied for all dogs entered that are not RT Ch.

At a State Retrieving Trial Championship, the only rules that shall apply are the rules for the Conduct of Retrieving Trials for Gundogs, as approved by the ANKC.

The event is to be conducted by Dogs SA (the SACA Inc.) according to the rules of the ANKC.

The Committee reserves the right to contract a reserve judge if necessary.

No member of a Judge’s household (ie any person who resides at the same address) shall enter or handle a dog in any stake at which the judge officiates.

No person shall exhibit or handle under a Judge if that person has handled any dog owned or part-owned, leased or part-leased by such Judge within a period of 12 months prior to such event or exhibition, or if the exhibitor has resided with the Judge within a period of 12 months prior to such event or exhibition.

Competitors are reminded that under the ANKC rule No 8 (k) all types of game as listed in the rules may be used in the course of this trial.

PROTESTS
A protest committee will be appointed to deal with any official, written protests received during the trial. Any protest must be in writing on the day of the trial and include the reason for the protest and also be accompanied by $100.00. If a protest is upheld the money will be refunded.
