The VGC conducted another very successful weekend of trialling last weekend. The trial site was in great condition considering the long dry summer we have had.
It was great to see the newly elected member of the upper house Dan Young come along for a look. Dan is from the fisher and shooters party and is the first politiam I have heard of to just come along for a look outside the National. It was a great opportunity to talk to him and point out our frustration at the requirement to have a gun licence to compete in trials when we only use blanks. I'm sure Dan will be more than helpful in remedying this situation!!

Saturday afternoon a clay target shoot was organised and was well supported. A more challenging setup was arranged as a warm up for duck opening and I hear Russell Thomas was the top gun of the day. Graeme and Julie Eames assisted me with simpler set up for some beginners and it was great to see a bunch of the girls come down for a shot. Top gun for the ladies went to Judy Johnson who had. Rick as her gun boy for the day! An honourable mention a goes to Katya Grey who I'm sure will be back next year to take out the top gun award.

We had good entry numbers particularly Restricted which seems be enjoying a influx of competitors thanks to the recent rule changes. We had a few scratches including two from me!! With bitches coming into season.
