morning today of the Qld Ch. Weather 14-26 degrees it is overcast and a chance of showers. Those from south of the border are in shorts while the local have on the long pants....

There is a light breeze and run 1 started at 9.30 am

The run is a triple mark pick up is reverse order see them 1-3 pick up 3-1.
First two dogs have had no birds to to help settle the nerves!!

We have seen run 2 which is starting at the same time at dog 21.

Run 2 is a double rise across a deep gully. There is a two bird that lands out of sight and is fired on return with the first leg of the double rise

Thanks to Gareth for the great coverage I will post complete results tomorrow night after the event ,sorry I don't do field reports .
The weather is hot approx 23-24 degrees intermittent wind & cloud dogs not overly stressed with the heat but feeling it ,tomorrows runs involve water in most of them I believe.

In my own defence dog 5 Wendy Michalk Flatecoat QLD 95

& Ron Jackson 81

cheers

Hi All

Run 3 is being judged by Georgina

Leave dog in hide behind the dam wall. Shoot blind reload call dog. Walk toward firing point and a walk up hair right on the other side of the dam. Reload and a mark is thrown diagonally opposite on the far side of the dam. Walk up about 50 meters mark about 100m. There is a blind which you pick up first also diagonally across dam but right of the mark. There is a poison rabbit for the dogs that run the bank around the corner of the dam.
The run is taking some time with three swims but most dogs are getting thru.
We have lost Lyne wise and Anthony Turner. There is only about 3 dogs to go.

Run 4 is complete. I don't think they lost any dogs.

Go to hide and shoot diversion Mark . leave dog and walk down the hill to firing point. Shoot blind call dog and shoot right Mark. Pick up blind which is between the two marks. The line is down hill to a junction of gullies where the dog can hook left or right to marks. Line is straight up the other side. Then pick up right Mark. The diversion did not come any to play for most dogs and most did a good job.

Well it's 6.30pm and we are back at Lake Redbrook. a long day with a fair bit of water. Judges used the full day and finished just in time.

run 5 with Elio was a double blind and Mark. the photo doesn't do it justice as it was tight between all birds and the blinds were on mounds beyond the water. We lost Bob Tawton and Oz and well as Paul Towning and Rocky. Overall the dogs were very good on this run.

run 6 Georgina

I don't think we lost any dogs.
Was a double fall with a diversion off to the right out of the picture. It didn't really have any bearing on the run and given the time was probably best left not picked up.

The later dogs had difficult but achievable marking conditions.

Stay posted who know who won your guess is as good as mine as a bunch of dogs had a good day.

Thanks again for the great coverage Gareth, it's just like being there.
What was the pick up order for run 5?

Cheers
