From the description, it sounds like the dogs and handlers were well tested. Well done, Ely Johnson. Congratulations to Maggie and Glory, Kerry and Ticket and Whiz.

Just to add to the description of runs. Run one, all three pickups were out of sight of the handler. Run two, dogs could be seen to each item of game. Run three, Marks were retrieved beyond the sight of the handler, line to blind was possible and kept the dog in sight. Run four, clear mark falling out of sight of handler, with a rabbit crossing in front of the dog on its way to the mark. Both mark and wounded rabbit retrieve were out of sight of the handler. Blind required dog to be controlled close to line. Run five, one mark enabled dog to be seen to the fall, Go bird mark was sighted for short time above trees and was not visible from the f.p. Double fall bird thrown across face of the dog as they crested a rise, with it falling out of sight to the handler. Run six, Triple mark, two short marks visible to handler for pickup, middle long mark out of sight on the retrieve. Hope this gives a little insight into how difficult the terrain was.

Kerry is correct in saying the terrain was testing, but the marks were clear and offered ample opportunity for dogs to show their marking ability . The runs were exceptionally well planned and thought out which made this one of the best Championships I have attended. My congratulations to Eli Johnson who as the judge had the foresight to select really good solid testing runs . The variety of wonderfully presented game added to the event . All in all a great and enjoyable Championship . Allan
