POINTING BREEDS FT CLUB NSW TRIALS 30/31 MAY 2009
Eight years of drought in southern NSW have made it hard for Pointer & Setter field triallers to find properties with cover and quail, but many hours of driving along dusty roads by our Trial Manager and others paid off when a couple of suitable paddocks were found. The cover was mainly native grasses with bare patches of earth and reasonable numbers of stubble quail. A strong cold wind each day tested both dogs and handlers. Eleven dogs competed - seven Pointers, three English Setters and one Gordon Setter. Results were as follows:
Saturday 30 May - Open Stake judge B Pollini:
Winner - R&J Goody's Pointer bitch QUANNAH CALIFORNIA BADJA
Second - S Monaghan's Pointer dog FT CH. QUANNAH COMMANCHE STORM
QC - J Gilligan's English Setter bitch MASTERFIND SAGE
This win gave Badja her Field Trial Championship. She also won an Open Stake in Victoria earlier in the month, and these wins have been some consolation for Ray and Jackie Goody who are recovering from the unexpected loss of Badja's dam FT CH. DEIFORTI ROSI, NRD. Congratulations Ray & Jackie, and vale Rosi, a memorable performer.
Sunday 31 May - Open Stake judge B Pollini:

No other placings.
The crowd:
