GSP Vic Exotic FT results

The last UD field trial was held on released partridge, pheasant & californian quail at Sentosa game reserve in Gipplsand. Ten dogs were entered each day. The weather was dreadful with very strong winds making it very difficult for the dogs to pin down the birds and then when they did find and flush them the birds often flew back over handlers and gallery into the wind making an effective shot difficult. Thanks to Laurie Phelan for provding birds in great condition that flew extremely well and to Russell Thomas for organising the trial site. Thanks also to Rick Price, Russell McCann and Wayne Outtrim for stewarding over the weekend.

Saturday July 9 - Judge Mr D Blacker
1st - T. Loft's - FT CH Quailblazer Super X - 171 pts
2nd - L. Sedgeman's - Topnotch Lord RRD - 163 pts

This second place gives Polo his NFD title, congratulations Lara

Depsite the dreadful weather, I thoroughly enjoyed this past weekend's field trials, just as I have enjoyed the previous two weekends I have ventured down to Victoria for my first season of Utiltiy Field Trials. All trialers, judges and their partners have cetainly made this complete newbie, non-shooter & 'out of towner' feel welcome at the trials. Thank you. This attitude will hopefully see more new trialers into the sport.

Lara,

Now that the field trial season is finished, I hope you come down and enjoy some more Victorian hospitality at our Retrieving trials!!!! We have also had a New South Welshman and West Ozzie come over/down and enjoy some pheasant shooting this past weekend. They certainly aquitted themselves quite well and are looking forward to coming back.

Gareth, I have certainly enjoyed the Victorian hospitality, however unlike UFT's I have access to Retrieving trials in my own 'backyard'!
