Hi All,

Unless we have some amazing rain in the next few weeks the Vic state will be held at Greens Lake Corop. Corop is on the Midland Hwy between Elmore and Stanhope. Excellent camping is available at the camping area on Greens Lake Rd Green Lake. Greens Lake rd comes off the Midland Hwy approx 2.5 km east of Corop.

There will be catering at the runs on both days.

There is plenty of accomodation available at both Elmore and Rochester.

Thanks Trevor,

Greens Lake Rd is 2.5kms from Corop on the left travelling towards Stanhope. Go down Greens Lake Rd to the toilet block. Turn left on the track immediately after the toilet blocket and we will be camping just over the rise.

We are going to arrange a "pizza night" for Saturday night. Cost will be aboput $10 per head and pizza will be delivered about 6pm. Everyone wil be able to pay on the day and confirm your meal at vetting.

Game for this trial will include Pheasant and partridge. There will be a few spare birds available Friday afternoon and saturday morning for anyone who wishes to give their dog the opportunity to pick one up before the trial.

Catering will include pheasant for lunch!!!

Handlers are strongly recommended to bring gum boots or thigh waders. If you don't have any a range of sizes will be made available on the day. They will not be needed by the gallery just competitors.

Gareth, it sounds suspiciously like your runs will include one of your famous swimming dog deliveries, or duck swamp wading expeditions!

Hi Di,

You just never know but see rule 1 of the rule book and the trial site is a duck swamp.

Pheasant and partridge live in a duck swamp so there must be some dry land Di :P I have just tested my long wellies for leaks - not used in years.

I'm glad the gallery will not need waders. I have trouble staying upright on just a small patch of mud!!!

Emma
I cannot wait to see another "Duck Dive" like I saw at Seymour. Don't worry about the waders but bring a spare set of clothes (or wear dark colors).

Dinner option Saturday Night.
We have been able to organise delivery of pizza from the local Rochy Pizza and Bistro. A Menu will be on hand on Saturday and we will need to work out who would like to participate in Saturday Nights Rochy nosh up.

There is a large variety of pizza and pasta on the menu and I will be co-ordinating the options and delivery time for Saturday Night.

At this stage we think we can get the price to about $10.00 per head depending on how many particpate.
It is a great way to support the local community especially as they are still recovering from the floods early in the year.

See you on Saturday!

RESULTS:

1st Place: John Stott R.T. CH. KADNOOK DREAM ALIL DREAM Pts 264
2nd Place: Jack Lynch NTL. & GR. RT CH. COALSGARTH TASSIE FERN Pts. 258
3rd. Place: Jack Lynch R.T. CH. LOWTHER HIGHLAND TSU Pts. 256
4th Place: Mark Davis NTL. & GR. R.T. CH. BEEREEGAN ONE TREE CM Pts. 255
5th Place: Chris Van Eekelen R.T. CH. COALSGARTH COOPER Pts. 226

6th dog to finish the trial was Russell Thomas F.T. CH. INKALINE NEVADA NFD RRD Pts. 195

The trial was very interesting with 6 runs over two days and most of the simulated duck hunting, great duck swamps and reedy water lagoons made for some very interesting runs being set by Gareth Tawton.
The last run even included handling dogs from a duck punt.

Thanks to all the people who helped out over the weekend especially those who came for two days to help out as stewards.
We had 28 entires, and three scratchings meant we started with 25 dogs, and at the end of day one we had 11 dogs still entered. We had three runs on day one and three runs on day two.
Day two saw the number dwindle to 6 after run four and five, with all 6 dogs going into the last run, surviving to the end.
Congratulations to John and Connie and Milly on a well deserved win.
