Stay tuned folks. I hear reception is patchy at the trial site and having a couple of technical issues getting info through so reports will follow later.

Poor reception here so I'll give a brief outline and try and post some photos
Run 1 walk up double mark. We lost two dogs G Tawton and Eva plu John Cauchi
Run 2 blind double mark get blind first then long right mark and short centre mark last. Lost Paul Hamson
Run 3 double rise and mark. Collect as seen. Lost joe Vella, Steve Bath and Bob Tawton with Denzel.
Run 4 double blind with a two bird on the way back from second blind. Landed nearly online so was quite tempting for a switch. All dogs got thru and most did a good job

Last night we had a fantastic roast dinner as a fundraiser for next years National. Thanks to all the contributors to a lovely meal. it was great to enjoy a warm fire, a few drinks and a meal with great company in the shearers quarters. Certainly the Qld contingent seemed to enjoy getting out of the cold.

It's 8.45am the fog has lifted but the river has risen a few feet over night. The judges has had to make some adjustments to his run before we get started. We have a slight breeze, the frost has thawed and Jack Lynch with Tsu (dog 5) will start the run

Run 5 leave dog in hide shoot blind reload and call dog. Shoot long land Mark 1, shoot diversion mark which is not to be picked up. Reload and shoot water mark. The river is flowing quickly but safe enough for the dogs. It's hard yards swimming back against the current. Pick up blind first, long land mark then the water mark. Blind is about 120m land Mark 140m and water mark is about 80m.

All dogs got thru Run 5 to a varying level of success. Many had trouble with the long land mark for some reason. Not sure if they didn't see it because they were attracted to the thrower for the water mark or if they were looking in the slot between the tussocks in the foreground and not where the marks was. Lyn Wise had a fantastic run.
