WA State Championship 28 & 29 Auguest Results.

Postby Marilyn Dawson » Tue 31 Aug 2021 1:13 pm

The 2021 W A State Championship Retrieving Trial was held on 28 & 29 August on a superb property near Crossman where the dams were overflowing and there was some reasonable cover in the paddocks after a wetter than normal WA winter; we are extremely grateful to the property owners for granting us access. Fortunately, our Championship judge, Mr Paul Littlejohn, was able to travel from Tasmania to WA this year and made great use of the site to set a challenging course of 6 runs over the two days. The weather was perfect for trialling, cool and mostly sunny with a few light showers on Sunday, which threatened to get heavier at presentation time but at least allowed us time to complete the presentations and take photographs.

Judge: Mr Paul Littlejohn (TAS)
Chief Steward: Mr Allan Bartram
Trial Secretary: Mr George Jones

Stewards:- Anne Cameron (Vetting & Gun), Dennis Graham, Mike McClure, Alex Deasy, Anthony Nesbitt & Ryan Burke
Officials & Stewards Catering: Anne Cameron
Catering for Presentations: Sandra Graham & Catherine Thorburn

The State Championship Working Party would like to thank Paul and Margie Littlejohn for making the trip over to WA when there is so much uncertainty making travel plans, we wish you a safe journey home. Particular thanks to our Chief Steward, Allan Bartram, whose experience made the event run smoothly and efficiently, assisted by a great team of stewards, including those who offered but were not required and competitors who stepped up and helped when no longer in competition.
A Special mention to Marilyn Dawson our wonderful photographer and to all those involved in making this trial happen both over the weekend itself and throughout the year, thank you for your support.
Our appreciation to the property owners and to Kerry Webster for liaising with the property owner to secure permission to hold the trial and also for organising the venue for our very enjoyable State dinner.
Thank you for our sponsores Eukanuba & and Pemberley Wines.
Thank you to Dave Thomas (Rustic Metal Works) for once again producing our State emblem and special award trophies.
Our thanks to everyone who made donations both to the trophy table and in fundraising your contributions are greatly appreciated. To absent friends who were unable to join us this year you were greatly missed.
